Yeah, I know what you're thinking. "Isn't it Awkward and Awesome Thursday, not Friday?" Well yes. But....I was sick yesterday and just wasn't up to it. Okay? Okay. So I have seen a lot of fellow bloggers doing this Awkward and Awesome thing and didn't really ever think I would do it because I never seemed to have anything super awkward or awesome happen to me. Until yesterday and today.
Awkward
-The girl standing in line behind me today at the L&T (real yummy place to get wraps at BYU) and obviously it didn't bother her because she kept getting closer and closer the whole twenty minutes I stood in line. I even thought me coughing in her direction would do the trick. NOPE.
-Thera Flu. I don't know if this is awkward or just plain gross. It does the trick but does it really need to taste that nasty?? ugh.
-Being the only person on the UTA bus besides the driver. I could see his mouth moving like he was talking to me but I couldn't hear him because of how loud the bus is and how stuffed my nose and ears are. It was way awkward.
-Sitting in the hall at school today doing homework and realizing that I had been sitting there for 2.5 hours without getting up or moving whatsoever and realizing it because the same girl would walk by every hour to move from class to class. "Yep, I'm still here" I thought to myself as she glanced towards me yet again.
-Being sick in class. I know everybody around me must have thought I was some contagious specimen today as I sat in class sneezing, coughing, blowing my nose, etc. ugh.
Awesome
-The chocolate colored fleece pullover I'm wearing from Eddie Bauer that I got for fifteen bucks! I can't get enough of these things.
-Thera Flu. Yes, I know. I did already mention this above in the awkward list. BUT I feel inclined to give it some recognition because it really does make me feel better.
-My husband. Enough said. But really, if it weren't for him I would probably still be in bed wallowing in my sicky-ness. He was seriously my hero yesterday. Running all over the place getting me anything and everything that I could possibly need. And even making me choke down my yucky medicine when I know if it was up to me, I would not have drank it. I just love him. He does so much for me and I hope that I treat him even half as good as he always treats me. Not to mention I came home to a clean house today after school. YES! He is the definition of awesome!! Love ya babe!
That was fun! I guess I may just have to continue doing this awkward and awesome thing!

what a weekend.
I swear, every other post of mine is about how crazy a weekend Preston and I had. But seriously, this was another crazy, yet oh so fun, one. I guess we have the best of times when we are running all over the place doin' stuff. Friday night we got to go to the Olympic Ski Trials. It was AMAZING. We got to see the freestyle jump things (sorry for those of you who are die-hard skiers and know the proper name for this event, I forgot what it was called). I love to ski and have been skiing since I was knee-high to a grasshopper BUT I am no where close to how talented these skiers are. (for one, I don't even jump, let alone do a flip!) They are absolutely incredible. We had such a great time with Scott and Britt & John and Christine. Preston was a little under the weather this weekend but still managed to enjoy himself. We went to this event last year as well and on the way home we bought a milk jug full of blue raspberry kool-aid. And we did it again this year. I think it is becoming a little family tradition. :)
My sister, Lindsey and her husband, Stephen and their baby, Claire, also came up to visit! While they were here, I went with Linz to get baby Claire's 6 month photos taken while the boys went to the hunting expo. Her pictures turned out so good! I even got a little debut in one of them. hehe
Isn't she the cutest little thing?? I feel the need to gush over my nieces and nephews since I don't have kids of my own. I can't help it - they are all so cute!!!
And last but certainly not least, we watched the Superbowl! First time being married! :) Come to think of it, each day we are married is the first time we have been married on that day. Like today, its the first February 7th we've been married. haha CUTE. I promise I'm not always that corny. Anyways, I rooted for the Steelers. Just to be different. And then once I thought about it, my Mom's family is from Wisconsin and I totally should have cheered for them. Serves me right I guess since the Steelers lost. I'm not a huge football fan but I always pay the best attention during half time. Go figure. And this years half time show was so good! I couldn't get enough of it! I want one of those light up dance suits so bad! Once the show was over and the game started up again, I may or may not have taken a little siesta. haha. I did wake up in time to watch the last couple minutes of the game though! It was a good one!
Well that was our weekend! I think we could use a little bit more of a relaxing one this week. However, I won't complain at all if anyone wants to come in and visit! We are always up for visitors! Love you all! :D
The awesome jumps the skiers were going off. And honestly, who smokes cigars?!? I mean, come on! NASTY!!!
John & Christine! For some reason we didn't get a picture of Scott & Britt...we did take a group picture with Preston's camera though. If we can figure out how to upload those onto my computer then I will post that one shortly. :)

And one more thing before I forget, I experienced the Sweet Tooth Fairy for the first time this weekend. I was in heaven. If only I could go there everyday for one of their yummy treats....LOVE IT!

When things don't go as planned....
When things don't go as planned, don't get upset, MAKE THE MOST OF IT! Last semester I had a professor named Jeff Hill. Dr. Hill lost his wife to cancer a couple of years ago and was left with six (I believe) young children to care for on his own. Well, after being really upset and angry about this situation, he decided to change his attitude and be positive. His motto was "When things don't go as planned, don't get upset, make the most of it!". He ended up getting remarried and is so happy now. He is such an example to me!
Well, Preston and I were so excited to have Emily come and stay with us last weekend. We had so many fun things planned and we were so excited to let Emily in on all of our fun plans. Well, we picked her up and that same night she got sick. She was devastated! We had planned on watching movies, going to a really fun jumping trampoline place, going to Park City for the Sundance Film Festival and anything else that we could possibly squeeze into those days before my parents came to pick her up. Unfortunately, the only thing we ended up being able to do from our previous plans was watch movies. Emily felt so bad she got sick while she came to visit! But through this whole experience we all came to realize the truthfulness behind Dr. Hill's motto: When things don't go as planned, don't get upset- Make the most of it! And we did! We enjoyed every minute together and being able to hang out and visit and catch up on each other's lives. We even got to take a little outing to go shopping - as you can tell by the picture of Emily and the giant spoon, she was starting to feel better by that point. Too bad it was just hours before my parents came to take her home. :( But we learned that no matter what you are doing, if you do your best to be happy and enjoy yourself, life becomes so much more fulfilling.
Our little shopping trip. Em got the cutest new outfit - I was way jealous! I gotta get me a pair of them skinny jeans! :D
Goofing around in Pier One. Such a cute store! I don't know why I haven't really been there before! I was in heaven!
Next time you visit Em, it's gonna be "off the hook!"
